Activism: Posters

A protest sign made in response to the 'Students for Life' Society at the University of Exeter, which promotes anti-abortion.
The design incorporates a tree, representing life, as the back drop to the 'pro choice' wording- a deliberate comment on the idea that pro choice disregards human life.
The colours are purposefully bright and stereotypically 'feminine', as this issue directly affects women.

A series of poster ideas to compliment my 'My body, My choice' zine. This is in response to the fact that 'My body, My choice' has recently been coined by far right anti-vaxxers and Trump supporters in anti-mask protests. However, it’s so important to remember what it was initially intended to highlight: ‘A review of 57 countries shows that only one in two women are empowered to decide whether and when to seek health care, including sexual and reproductive health services, use contraception, and when to have sex with her partner’(UNFPA 2021). In other words, in at LEAST 57 countries, 50% of women don’t have autonomy over their OWN bodies!!
The posters use various shades of pink, with cursive writing to juxtapose the coarse wording and imagery.
An example mockup of how this poster could be used as a cover for (for example) an information booklet or book on feminism.
